Sue began taking pictures as a young child and developing them with her father in his basement dark room. They did black and white at that time but when Sue and her husband married their wedding gift to each other was a Minolta, their first SLR film camera. They spent eight summers living and working in Glacier National Park, Montana, culminating in literally thousands of slides taken while working as a ranger, hiking and climbing.
Many years later in 2002, it was suggested that Sue create products to sell in her historic town of Pleasanton, California and that was the beginning of her professional photography career. Sue's work has since expanded to include art shows, being published in several magazines and books, being commissioned to provide images for corporate space and capturing special business and family photos for her clients. Nature is very near and dear to Sue so she uses it as her backdrop for her portraits, which helps create a much more relaxed atmosphere for her clients. Her mission with her images of nature is to help others feel a deeper connection to our natural world and hopefully become more motivated to help preserve it for future generations.
Sue shoots all digital now (Canon equipment) and really appreciates the instant feedback for her clients as well as herself. She also enjoys recreating images into unique fine art pieces with Photoshop and other plug-in software.
